Needs Analysis and Strategy Planning

This is the examination of a client’s training situation, target learning audiences, and requirements.

For example, JRC will:

  • Take a snapshot view of current training, specifically in terms of strengths/areas for improvement.
  • Describe the target audiences who need training, identifying both current and desired knowledge/skill levels.

  • Specify performance gaps  … and gap factors  … between current and desired knowledge/skills levels.

  • Recommend additional training/performance interventions based on best practices, cost effectiveness, relevant business requirements, etc.

  • Specify a plan for training development, including objectives, instructional strategies, media, etc. that provides a clearly defined path for moving toward top performance.

  • Identify a training development process and schedule.

  • Provide training investment options.

Program Design and Development

Here the focus is on translating performance needs/gaps into the creation of a custom training course, curriculum, or performance tools.

JRC executes a systematic, multi-step approach to make this happen  … a precisely defined roadmap which is time-tested across organizations/industries and based firmly on key adult learning principles and fundamental tenants of instructional design.

Since our emphasis is on training to improve sales force performance and increase sales, JRC typically develops courses and tools in these areas:

  • Basic/advanced sales skills.
  • Sales process or changes in the fundamental approach to sales.

  • Product knowledge or new product launch.

  • Industry/marketplace knowledge.

  • Organizational knowledge.

  • Sales support/customer relations.

  • Sales management.

The most effective instructional delivery methods are utilized. For example, JRC develops:

  • Facilitated workshops, seminars, and meetings.
  • Self-paced self-study materials.

  • Just-in-time job aids and other performance support tools.

  • Reference tools.

Multiple levels of evaluation provide feedback on whether expectations are met for both training participants and the organization.

Support and Advocacy

JRC provides additional consulting services to enhance an organization’s overall training process and capabilities.

For example, JRC provides the following training-related services:

  • Proposal development/RFP response support.
  • Presentation development.

  • Training department/function organization.

  • Training standards/guidelines development.

  • Quality assurance.

  • Project management.

  • Train-the-Trainer.

  • Meeting/seminar facilitation.

And then there’s advocacy …

Performance improvement solutions require a significant investment in planning, resources, and commitment. As part of the process, it’s likely you’ll need/want to work with multiple outside business partners.

In these situations, JRC can act as your advisor/advocate on everything from what vendors to select to serving as your instructional design liaison/quality champion.

Coaching

Sometimes it can be pretty difficult to see the forest for the trees. Thats why JRC provides one-to-one coaching sessions to assist you with challenges involving sales skills improvement, sales development, and sales training.

The primary goal of these informal sessions is to create a dialogue which enables you to reinforce and expand the knowledge and skills you already possess, while at the same time enhancing your overall sense of confidence and professionalism. Well address the topics which are of keenest interest to you, whether an analysis of todays opportunities and challenges or a constructive review of past events to determine what worked well and where improvements can be made.

For example, discussions might focus on identifying opportunities, preparing for and making sales calls, developing proposals, managing relationships, or the sales process itself. You might also ask JRC to review and provide feedback on key selling tools such as websites, PowerPoint presentations, sales brochures, case studies, and business development plans.

Rest assured that all communications are confidential and will be treated as such. Remember, the goal here is not to judge, but to establish an avenue of open communication so you can achieve favorable results more quickly and more often.

Coaching sessions can occur either in person or over the phone. Fees are on an hourly basis.
